Britain's new chief rabbi makes a gutsy move

You again show your ignorance. He is not the head of the ultraOrthodox. He is the head of the officially recognized Jewish movement, which encompasses ALL orthodox rabbis and congregants (although many congregants are only nominally Orthodox). He's no more ultra-orthodox or right wing than Sacks was, he's just willing to diverge from the ultra-orthodox, most of whom don't give two figs about the official movement.

She's commenting on the political reality, not the religious reality.

That was unnecessarily rude.

He isn't Ultra Orthodox, but the London Beit Din essentially is, making this a gutsy mood.

Sorry about the confusion--it's true that the British Chief Rabbi is head of a much larger group than the right-wing Orthodox alone. Miami Al is correct in clarifying that this move is gutsy because new Chief Rabbi Ephraim Mirvis is defying the London Bet Din.
